The New Beginnings Program of the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati was developed to serve victims of abuse. Women and children who are leaving area shelters to start a new home from their abusers are offered items such as bedding, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, towels, cleaning supplies and children's necessities. The Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati recently merged with Heart to Heart and now serves all counties in the Greater Cincinnati area and Northern Kentucky.
Operation School Bell is another program conducted through the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati. Underprivileged elementary students attending Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Schools receive new school clothing including pants, shirts, underwear, socks, belts, shoes and jackets. Each child also receives hygiene supplies and a personalized reusable bag. During the 2011-2012 school year almost 2000 children from 33 schools were served.
Both programs of the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati benefited from grants through the Cambridge Charitable Foundation.
