Wesley Chapel Mission Center

Wesley Chapel Mission Center is a guiding light and refuge in Over-the-Rhine and is an extension ministry of the United Methodist Church. Their goal is to be an agent of positive change so that the surrounding neighborhood becomes a place people desire to live and build community. Their hope is that their presence will challenge and encourage people to be assets in their community.

Wesley Chapel Mission CenterThe Center offers many programs that are directed to children. KLASS (Keep Learning After School Stops) is their after school program for K-12th grades and weaves together academic assistance, Christian education and enriching activities. STAR Club (Science, Technology, Arithmetic and Reading) focuses on remedial academic assistance so that children can catch up through one-on-one tutoring, which is offered on Saturdays, along with enrichment programs on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Summer Camp is a free, 6-week day camp where students are given safe, fun places to play as they learn to garden, visit a local swimming pool, sing songs, make crafts and receive Christian education. Additionally, campers receive academic support to prevent academic decline during the summer months. A Junior Staff program was initiated that provides valuable paid work experience for select students who apply, interview and are hired for part-time positions.
